A creamy and aromatic Vanilla Milk Tea made with real vanilla bean or vanilla bean paste, black tea, and frothy milk. This delightful homemade tea combines the rich, natural essence of vanilla with the robust flavor of black tea, sweetened to taste and perfect for a comforting beverage any time of day.

Ingredients

Vanilla Base

  • 1 Vanilla Bean or 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste

Tea

  • 1 Teaspoon Black Tea or 1 Tea Bag
  • 1 Cup Water

Milk & Sweetener

  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar or to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the vanilla: Slice the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds into a small pot, then add the whole bean pod. Alternatively, use 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract instead.
  2. Boil the vanilla infusion: Add 1 cup of water to the pot containing the vanilla, and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat and add the black tea bag or loose tea.
  3. Steep the tea: Cover the pot with a fitted lid and steep the tea for about 5 minutes. Avoid steeping longer to prevent bitterness; instead, increase tea quantity for a stronger flavor.
  4. Strain the mixture: Remove and discard the vanilla bean shell and tea bag, or strain out loose-leaf tea using a tea ball for easy removal.
  5. Sweeten the tea: Stir in sweetener such as sugar or honey, starting with 1 teaspoon and adjusting to taste for desired sweetness.
  6. Warm and froth the milk: Heat 1/4 cup of milk until warm and froth it using a frother or whisk.
  7. Combine and serve: Pour the frothed milk over the brewed vanilla tea, mix gently, and enjoy your creamy, vanilla-infused milk tea.

Notes

  • Use either a real vanilla bean, vanilla bean paste, or vanilla extract to achieve vanilla flavor.
  • If the vanilla flavor is weak, the vanilla bean may be old or improperly stored; add vanilla extract or paste to enhance flavor.
  • Experiment with different types of milk like almond or oat milk for varied flavors and creaminess.
  • For a spiced twist, sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top before serving.
  • Use high-quality black tea for the best taste in your milk tea.
  • If out of vanilla, vanilla simple syrup can be used as a sweetener with vanilla flavor.
