A zesty and creamy Sriracha Lime Hummus that combines the smoky heat of Sriracha with the bright freshness of lime juice. This easy-to-make hummus is perfect for dipping, spreading, or adding a flavorful kick to your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Hummus Base

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup (48 grams) Sriracha
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) olive oil
  • 3 large cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2-4 tablespoons (30-60 ml) water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly to remove any excess liquid for a smoother hummus. Peel and prepare the garlic cloves.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Add the chickpeas, Sriracha, fresh lime juice, olive oil, garlic, sea salt, and paprika to a food processor or high-powered blender such as a Blendtec, Vitamix, or Ninja.
  3. Process Until Smooth: Blend all ingredients until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides to ensure everything is evenly blended.
  4. Add Water Gradually: Add water one tablespoon at a time, blending after each addition, until the desired consistency is reached. Note that high-powered blenders may require slightly more water than food processors.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with sesame seeds, chopped cilantro, or a drizzle of olive oil for added flavor and presentation.
  6. Storage: Serve immediately or transfer into an airtight container and refrigerate. The hummus will keep fresh for up to 4 days in the fridge.

Notes

  • Rinse chickpeas well to avoid grainy texture caused by canning liquid.
  • Adjust Sriracha quantity to control the level of spiciness according to your preference.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, peel the chickpeas before blending.
  • Add water gradually to avoid making the hummus too runny.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness and prevent drying out.
