Crispy Greek Fries topped with a creamy, tangy feta yogurt sauce made with fresh herbs and garlic, perfect for a flavorful appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients

French Fries

  • 32 oz french fries (thick cut, pre-cut frozen recommended)

Feta Yogurt Sauce

  • 4 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped dill
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Bake the Fries: Preheat your oven and bake the frozen french fries according to the package directions, but extend the bake time slightly for extra crispiness and browning to prevent sogginess under the sauce.
  2. Prepare the Feta Yogurt Sauce: While the fries bake, combine crumbled feta cheese, plain yogurt, sour cream, minced garlic, lemon juice, fresh parsley, dill, dried oregano, and salt in a medium bowl. Mix thoroughly and let it sit to enhance the flavors. This can be prepared hours or even a day ahead.
  3. Salt the Fries: Once the fries are baked and crispy, remove them from the oven and immediately salt them to your liking so the salt adheres well.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Place the fries on a serving platter or large bowl. Drizzle the prepared feta yogurt sauce evenly over the fries.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with additional fresh herbs and crumbled feta cheese before serving to add an extra burst of flavor and visual appeal. Serve immediately to maintain crispiness.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut fries for the best texture.
  • Choose fresh dill and parsley for more vibrant flavor.
  • Opt for a good quality feta cheese for a richer taste.
  • Serve immediately to prevent the fries from becoming soggy.
