Chicken Caesar Smash Tacos combine crispy, flavorful ground chicken patties smashed on warm flour tortillas, topped generously with fresh Caesar salad for a deliciously crunchy, savory taco experience. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner that blends classic Caesar flavors with a fun taco twist.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Tacos

  • Spray oil, for cooking
  • 1 pound lean ground chicken (ground turkey can be used as a substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 flour tortillas

For the Caesar Salad

  • 4 cups Caesar salad (prepared from romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing or use a store-bought Caesar salad mix)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caesar Salad: Prepare the Caesar salad according to your preferred recipe or use a store-bought Caesar salad mix with romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing. Set aside.
  2. Season the Ground Chicken: In a bowl, combine 1 pound of lean ground chicken with 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Mix thoroughly by stirring or with your hands to evenly distribute the spices.
  3. Form and Smash the Patties: Divide the seasoned ground chicken into 4 equal-sized balls. Place one ball of meat on each of the 4 flour tortillas. Smash the meat down carefully with your hand or a spatula, pressing toward the edges to make a thin patty. The meat will shrink as it cooks, so spreading it near the edge is important.
  4. Cook the Tacos: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and spray it lightly with oil. Once hot, place the tortillas with smashed chicken meat side down in the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the chicken is browned and crispy. Flip the tacos and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the tortilla to brown slightly and the chicken to finish cooking through.
  5. Assemble and Serve: Remove the tacos from the skillet. Spoon approximately 1 cup of prepared Caesar salad onto each taco, placing it on top of the chicken meat side. Serve immediately while warm for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat leftovers gently in a microwave or skillet before adding fresh Caesar salad to keep the tortilla crispy.
  • Speed Tip: To save time, use a ready-made Caesar salad from the deli or produce section and your favorite premade Caesar dressing.
  • Turkey Substitute: Ground turkey can be substituted for chicken if preferred.
