A refreshing and simple 3-Ingredient Peach Iced Tea featuring homemade black tea and a sweet peach syrup. This delightful summer beverage blends ripe peaches with freshly brewed black tea for a naturally fruity and lightly sweetened drink that’s perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Iced Black Tea

  • 3 black tea bags
  • 4 cups boiling water

Peach Syrup

  • 3 large ripe peaches, chopped
  • 2 cups water, divided
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (use 1/2 cup for a sweeter tea)

Instructions

  1. Make the black tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a light simmer in a pot on the stovetop or using an electric kettle. Remove from heat and add the 3 black tea bags, ensuring they are fully submerged. Let them steep for 5 minutes, then carefully remove the tea bags. Allow the brewed tea to cool before transferring it to the refrigerator to chill.
  2. Make the peach syrup: In a blender, combine 1 cup of water, the granulated sugar, and the chopped peaches. Blend for 2-3 seconds just enough to break down the peaches without pureeing completely. Pour this mixture into a large pot and add the remaining 1 cup of water. Heat the mixture on medium heat until it comes to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit and steep for an additional 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the peach syrup: Using a fine sieve, strain the syrup into a large pitcher or jar. Press down on the peach puree to extract all the juice. Chill the syrup in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  4. Combine and serve: Pour the chilled black tea and peach syrup together in a large pitcher. Stir well to combine. Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices for a decorative touch.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar quantity according to your preferred sweetness level; more sugar for a sweeter tea.
  • Make sure to chill both the tea and the syrup well before combining for the best refreshing taste.
  • Use ripe, juicy peaches for a more flavorful syrup.
  • This recipe can be doubled or tripled easily for larger gatherings.
  • For a refreshing twist, add a splash of lemon juice or fresh mint leaves before serving.
