Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs (gluten-free if preferred)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray (for cooking)
  • 4 to 6 burger buns (optional, for serving)
  • Optional toppings such as lettuce, tomato, or mayo

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, minced garlic, diced onion, bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix gently until everything is just combined to keep the texture tender.
  3. Shape the mixture into 4 to 6 patties depending on size preference.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat or preheat a grill.
  5. Cook patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For gluten-free, use gluten-free bread crumbs or almond flour instead.
  • Add fresh herbs like parsley or basil for extra flavor.
  • Substitute white cheddar with mozzarella, pepper jack, or preferred cheese.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze individually wrapped burgers for up to 2 months; thaw overnight before reheating.
