Ingredients

Snack Mix:

  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 (16 ounce) package vanilla candy coating, divided
  • 1 (1 ounce) package blue confetti sprinkles
  • 1 (1 ounce) package black confetti sprinkles
  • 1 (1 ounce) package red confetti sprinkles
  • 1 (1 ounce) package yellow confetti sprinkles
  • 1 (1 ounce) package green confetti sprinkles
  • ¼ cup Wilton star sprinkles
  • 1 cup Froot Loops cereal
  • 1 cup Milk Chocolate M&Ms (combination of blue, brown, red, yellow, and green)
  • 1 (7 ounce) package Lifesaver Gummies

Mini Olympic Torches:

  • 25 Bugles
  • ⅓ cup melted vanilla candy coating
  • Red sugar sprinkles
  • Yellow sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Mini Olympic Torches: Melt enough vanilla candy coating as directed on the package to get about ⅓ cup of melted coating. Dip the large end of each Bugle into the melted candy coating, then immediately coat in red sugar sprinkles. Quickly dip the top of the red-coated end into additional melted candy coating and immediately cover with yellow sugar sprinkles. Place on parchment paper and let set completely.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the Rice Chex cereal, Cheerios cereal, pretzel sticks, and dry roasted peanuts. Mix these ingredients gently to combine evenly.
  3. Melt Candy Coating: Place the remaining candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl or the original container. Heat according to package instructions, typically 90 seconds to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted and smooth. Take care not to overheat the coating to prevent burning and thickening.
  4. Coat the Mix: Pour the melted candy coating over the combined dry ingredients in the large bowl. Toss thoroughly with a large spoon to ensure all pieces are evenly coated with the candy coating.
  5. Add Confetti Sprinkles: Immediately sprinkle half of the assorted confetti sprinkles over the coated cereal mixture. Stir gently to disperse them throughout the mix evenly.
  6. Spread and Decorate: Spread the snack mix in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. While still wet with candy coating, sprinkle the remaining confetti sprinkles, the Wilton star sprinkles, Froot Loops, and Milk Chocolate M&Ms over the top. Arrange the Lifesaver Gummies and the prepared Mini Olympic Torches over the mixture for decoration.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the snack mix to cool completely until the candy coating is set. Break the mix into pieces and serve from a large bowl or jar.
  8. Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container or plastic bag at room temperature for up to one week to maintain freshness and crunch.
