Deliciously creamy and airy whipped Greek yogurt, perfect as a no-bake dessert or snack. This light and fluffy treat combines Greek yogurt with heavy cream, maple syrup, and vanilla, whipped to soft peaks. Serve with fresh fruit, graham crackers, or enjoy plain. It can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days, thickening slightly over time.

Ingredients

Whipped Greek Yogurt

  • 1 cup (240g) whole fat or 2% plain Greek yogurt (such as Fage)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) cold heavy cream or whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add Greek yogurt, cold heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt if using, into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment or use a hand mixer bowl.
  2. Start Mixing: Begin mixing on low speed for about 20 seconds, allowing the cream to start blending smoothly with the yogurt.
  3. Increase Speed: Gradually increase the mixer to the highest speed and continue whisking for about 2 minutes to incorporate air and create volume.
  4. Scrape Bowl: Reduce the speed and turn off the mixer. Use a spatula to scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl, ensuring all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  5. Whip to Peaks: Resume mixing at high speed for another 2 to 3 minutes until soft peaks form when the whisk is lifted. The peaks should stand but not be very stiff.
  6. Store & Serve: Transfer to a sealed container and refrigerate for up to 5 days. The whipped yogurt will thicken slightly as it chills. Serve plain or with fresh fruit and graham crackers.

Notes

  • Coconut cream can substitute for heavy cream 1:1 for a dairy-free twist with a subtle coconut flavor and similar texture.
  • You can double or triple the recipe to serve as a large dip for gatherings.
  • Store whipped Greek yogurt in an airtight container to maintain its texture.
  • Whipped yogurt is best consumed within 1-2 days for optimal freshness, though it keeps up to 5 days in the fridge.
