These Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes are a quick and flavorful side dish made with baby red potatoes tossed in a blend of Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic and onion powders, and parmesan cheese. Cooked in the air fryer at high heat, they come out golden and crispy on the outside while tender inside, perfect for a delicious and easy appetizer or side.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 1 lb. baby red potatoes, washed and halved

Seasonings & Extras

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley to garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the halved baby red potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, parmesan cheese, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Arrange in air fryer: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd. If necessary, cook in batches to ensure even crisping.
  3. First cook cycle: Cook the potatoes at 400°F (204°C) for 10 minutes in the air fryer.
  4. Shake and stir: After 10 minutes, shake the air fryer basket and stir the potatoes to promote even cooking and browning.
  5. Second cook cycle: Continue cooking for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.
  6. Serve: Remove from the air fryer and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overload the air fryer basket; cook in batches for best results and even crisping.
  • Use baby red potatoes or similar small waxy potatoes for best texture and crispiness.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice right before serving to enhance flavor and add freshness.
  • Parmesan cheese adds a savory depth; omit for a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust seasoning quantities to taste, especially salt and paprika based on preference.
