Indulge in the delicious flavors of a cinnamon sugar donut in the form of a sweet bread loaf. This recipe combines the warmth of cinnamon, sweetness of sugar, and richness of butter for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Main Bread Batter:

  • ¼ cup Canola Oil
  • ¼ cup unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 large Eggs, room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Buttermilk
  • ½ tsp Molasses
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon

Topping:

  • ½ cup unsalted Butter, melted
  • ¼ cup light Brown Sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a loaf pan with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mix butter, oil, and sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until smooth.
  4. Slowly add dry ingredients and buttermilk, alternating, and beat after each addition.
  5. Scrape sides of the bowl to incorporate all ingredients.
  6. Break apart lumps and blend well.
  7. Set aside ½ to ¾ cup of batter in another bowl.
  8. In the small bowl, mix cinnamon and molasses.
  9. Layer half of the bread batter in the loaf pan, then half of the molasses mixture.
  10. Top with remaining bread batter and molasses mixture.
  11. Swirl the mixtures together with a knife.
  12. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  13. Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan.
  14. In a dish, combine cinnamon and sugars.
  15. Dip the loaf in melted butter mixture and coat with cinnamon sugar.
  16. Enjoy!
